HIBIKI LEITHIS (ヒビキ・レイティス HIBIKI REITISU), also known as Hibiki of the Hundred Nights, is one of the Blue Pegasus mages part of the Trimens team.
APPARENCE
Hibiki is a slim, medium-sized young man. He has mussed blond-brown hair framing his face. His eyes are dark, and he has remarkably long eyelashes. Many girls find him attractive, and some are even willing to join Blue Pegasus just to be near him.
Initially, Hibiki wore a dark double-breasted suit with distinctive light lines on each sleeve and the lower legs, as well as the Blue Pegasus symbol on his left shoulder. He wore it over a blue striped shirt with a darker tie, and shiny dress shoes. Shortly after the start of the Oración Seis arc, he abandoned his jacket and tie, letting his shirt hang loosely over his pants, adopting a more casual look.
In X791, Hibiki wears a dark vest with a pair of light wings pointing outwards on the chest, and a plain light shirt. He no longer wears a tie, but retains his dark pants and shoes.
MAGIC AND ABILITIES
Earkype (古文書アーカイブ Ākaibu): This is a rare type of magic that enables Hibiki to transfer information to and from others for various purposes. Thanks to this, he can coordinate the movements of his allies, know their current state and provide them with new knowledge. As a result, Hibiki often remains in the background on the battlefield, acting as a command center. However, it is also capable of defending itself when necessary. Over the past seven years, Hibiki’s Earkype processing speed has become much faster and he is now trying to create a smaller version of his magic.
Surcharge (オーバーロード Ōbārōdo) : Hibiki can manifest his Earkype magic in the form of magical screens and explode them violently in front of his target, causing damage similar to an explosion. This is enough to throw her target into the air, as seen with Wendy.
Protection (プロテクト Purotekuto): Hibiki can create a magical shield from screens using her magic. It’s unclear to what extent it can resist attacks, magical or otherwise, but this shield proved powerful enough to block an ice-making spell cast by Gemini, who had by then taken on Grey’s form and abilities, as well as Sagittarius’s arrows.
Telepathy (念話テレパシー Terepashī): This magic allows Hibiki to communicate with others simply by using his mind. Thanks to this, he can establish contact with his comrades even over long distances. However, it’s likely that he can only make this connection with individuals he knows personally and is familiar with. Other Earkype users can also intercept this connection, as Zero demonstrated by connecting to the network.
Information transfer: Hibiki can use his magic to transfer certain information into a person’s mind. This is particularly useful during exploration missions, as he can send data about the immediate environment, for example, to his comrades. This information is perceived mentally in the form of loading bars representing images and symbols downloaded in real time. Thanks to this, he can guide his allies by transferring “maps” directly into their minds. Transferable data also includes, among other things, knowledge of how to perform powerful spells such as Urano Metria.
However, passing on such information to another person is not without its drawbacks. It seems to cause a mental strain that persists throughout the download. After using this information, the person may feel tired or have difficulty remembering details. Thus, Hibiki states that performing a skill based on the information he provides can only be used once.
PERSONALITY
Like other members of the Trimens, Hibiki tends to charm every woman he meets for the first time, regardless of age. He does so without embarrassment, even in the presence of these women’s friends. It’s said that he always has several girlfriends at the same time. He apparently has no particular preference for any one woman, but rumors about him are numerous, with around 18 (unconfirmed) legends circulating about him so far.
Nevertheless, he knows how to get serious when necessary. He also has a strong will, having withstood the effects of Nirvana for some time before succumbing. He admits, however, that it was Lucy’s link with the Celestial Spirits that really saved him. He is also courteous to others, displaying politeness and generally using honorific forms to address them. He’s apparently more perceptive and knowledgeable than he lets on, and it’s for this reason that Bob entrusts him with information about Nirvana’s true abilities.
HISTORY
Hibiki is a long-standing member of the Blue Pegasus guild, having joined long ago. Master Bob has great confidence in him and considers him his right-hand man. It’s even said that he’s the reason many women join Blue Pegasus in the first place.
