HAPPY, A LITTLE BLUE EXCEED LOOKING LIKE A KITTEN, IS ACCOMPANYING NATSU. HE IS THE SON OF LUCKY AND MÂR, AND SEEMS TO HAVE A WEAKNESS FOR CARLA.
Happy is an Exceed from Extalia, a member of the Fairy Tail guild and Natsu’s team. He is Natsu Dragnir’s best friend.
APPARENCE
Happy is a little blue Exceed with a white belly. He has a rectangular head, pink ears, big black eyes with thin eyebrows, and light blue cheek markings near his little whiskers (two on each side of his face). Happy has a triangular nose that leads to semi-round upper lips on the sides. His body is also rectangular and, being an Exceed, he has a structure that enables him to walk upright unlike normal cats. Even without thumbs, Happy is able to hold objects. He has a long tail with a white tip, while the rest of his tail is blue. What’s more, he can use his tail to hold onto objects. Happy usually carries a green backpack containing food and items that can be used in battle. This backpack also conceals his green guild mark on his back. When he uses his magic, he can grow a pair of large angel-feather wings that enable him to fly and carry others. Happy doesn’t usually wear clothes, except in the Fantasia parade, when he disguises himself as Edolas, and when his parents have given him clothes, always in Edolas.
PERSONALITY
Despite his small stature and eccentric appearance, Happy is very loyal to his teammates and other guild members. He has a fairly extensive knowledge of the world of magic, sometimes more than Lucy and Natsu. Having grown up alongside Natsu Dragnir, Happy often imitates his actions and reactions. He’s quick-witted and bold, especially towards Lucy Heartfilia. However, he sometimes shows a darker side, commenting on the devastating aspects of the magic used by his comrades.
Happy loves fish above all else and dislikes dogs (with the exception of Plue). He adds a comic touch with his catchphrase “Aye!” or “Aye Sir!”. He feels a strange attraction to Exceeds like himself, and drools on Loki’s shoulder when he discovers that Loki is a lion. Happy has also developed a strong attachment to Carla, another Exceed who ignored him at first, but comes to appreciate and respect him.
