Toppo first appears at the start of the Survival of the Universe saga. He is the mysterious hooded bodyguard of Vermoud and his Kaio Shin, Marcarita.
In the anime, he is present at the exhibition fight organized by Zeno. We see him deflect a stray attack towards his platform. He retorts that doing so is extremely impolite. At the end of the tournament, he decides to challenge Goku, convinced that the Saiyan is an evil being. Everyone blames Goku for organizing the tournament. And so, Toppo takes on Kakarot in the arena. 🤼♀️
Toppo gets Goku into trouble with his mastery of arm locks and crushing. When he traps the Saiyan with his arms, he is convinced he has won the battle. However, Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue and manages to free himself. Undeterred, Toppo continues to stand up to Goku, landing a super Kamehameha. Furious at seeing his uniform damaged, he prepares to counterattack. Goku activates maximum Kaioken, but the High Priest decides to end the match. Kakarot thanks Toppo for an interesting fight. However, the Universe 11 fighter despises him and tells him that he can never defeat a warrior named Jiren, who is much stronger than he is. 🦾
Back in his universe, Toppo is relaxing in a bar. He seems terribly worried about what’s to come, realizing just how likely his universe is to be wiped out. His general, Kahseral, arrives and asks for news. Kahseral notices that Toppo seems downcast. Their conversation is interrupted by Dyspo’s need for help. They go to his aid. The Pride Troopers commander then decides to recruit his team for the tournament, and Kahseral accepts. 👍
He also recruits Jiren the Grey, the most powerful mortal in Universe 11, whose power exceeds that of his God of Destruction.
The Tournament of Power
Time for battle! Universe 11 deploys the Pride Troopers onto the field. Toppo faces several opponents from other universes.
Later, when C17 attacks Brianne during her choreography, Toppo goes berserk against the cyborg. He hates rudeness and thinks poses are important. Then he watches Dyspo fight Hit. The Universe 6 warrior manages to send him off the pitch, but is saved in-extremis by a partner. 👌
Toppo witnesses the first confrontation between Goku and Jiren. Afterwards, he decides to stay with his partner to ensure victory. Indeed, Jiren, Toppo and Dyspo quickly become the last three fighters in Universe 11, so they decide to withdraw and wait for the other fighters to eliminate each other. 💀

However, Toppo acquires phenomenal strength. He can now use the powers of the Gods of Destruction. He surrounds himself in a violet aura capable of destroying anything that touches him in hand-to-hand combat. He wins his duels with C17 and Golden Freezer without too much difficulty. The latter disappear for quite a while. 💥
Toppo is clearly becoming a major threat in the tournament. In this form, nothing seems able to stop him. He uses spheres of destructive energy capable of devastating any obstacle. Vegeta is in great difficulty despite his ultimate form. Totally powerless in the face of this extraordinary adversary, whose power almost rivals that of a God of Destruction, the Prince of the Saiyans makes a decisive decision in the tournament. Vegeta charges an attack similar to the one he used earlier against Majin Boo, to explode everything within a short radius. At this point, most spectators thought he had decided to sacrifice himself. The attack causes a phenomenal explosion of blue light, destroying part of the arena. Toppo can’t take it and falls off the surface. Once on the bench, he resumes his normal form and has to watch Jiren fight. 👀

The tournament continues and Vegeta is quickly eliminated by Jiren. The Prince of Saiyans has absolutely no energy left following his attack on Toppo. Jiren therefore faces Goku one-on-one, since C17 and Freezer are still missing. 🤕
Goku masters Ultra Instinct and begins to weaken Jiren considerably. Although the Saiyan suffers the side effects of this transformation, offering Jiren the opportunity to regain the upper hand, the Universe 11 champion is considerably weakened by this fight. 😵
Son Goku is saved by C17 and Freezer, who reappear. The two fighters take advantage of Jiren’s weakness to attack him strategically. C17 manages to trap him and inflicts a devastating explosion. Once down, Jiren seems resigned to defeat. It’s only thanks to Toppo’s encouragement that he manages to get back up and unleash his rage. To the very end, Toppo supports his friend Jiren. 💪

Toppo is the second most powerful fighter in his universe, after Jiren. He possesses considerable power, which has made him a potential candidate for god of destruction. He is the bodyguard of the gods Bermod and Khai. In his fight against Goku, he seriously challenged the latter. Despite his imposing stature and irregular build, he is fast and brutal. He excels in the art of self-defense and immobilization, using arm keys and being able to take powerful explosions thanks to his size. 💥
In the anime, he easily surpasses Son Goku’s Super Saiyan form, dominating him almost to death. Goku is forced to transform into Super Saiyan Blue to free himself from his embrace.
