Are you here to learn more about Tarble, Prince Vegeta’s younger brother? Then stay right here, you’ve come to the right place!

In this guide, we’ll explore Tarble, the main character in the film dedicated to him. Despite his poor fighting skills, he makes up for it with remarkable courage, and stands out from other Saiyans for his gentle, calm nature.

Tarble is a low-class Saiyan, the last child of King Vegeta III, which makes him the younger brother of Prince Vegeta IV. He is also married to an alien named Gure, whom he has known since childhood and who hails from a distant planet. Banished from Planet Vegeta by his father because of his weak power, he escaped the Saiyan genocide. Pursued relentlessly across the universe, he is constantly hunted down by former members of Freezer’s army, even many years after the Galactic Emperor’s defeat.

Tarble is therefore the main antagonist in “Son Goku and Friends Are Back”, and he’s the trigger for the hostilities linked to the story.

TARBLEAPPARENCE:

Tarble - Dragon Ball Z
Tarble is a small Saiyan, with a rather slim build. Smaller than his older brother, he nonetheless bears a strong resemblance to the latter in the Dragon Ball Z Saiyan saga. Tarble’s black hair is upstanding, with a wisp falling over his forehead. He wears a full-body blue jumpsuit and the battle armor typical of Freezer’s forces. His torso armor features protective shoulder pads, and he also wears white gloves and combat boots. 👍

Like all Saiyans and members of Freezer‘s army, Tarble wears a green power detector over his left eye. He also has a monkey tail that floats freely instead of wrapping around his waist like his fellows.

PERSONALITY:

Tarble is a Saiyan with a character and nature relatively close to Son Goku’s. Gentle and very polite, he shows a certain reluctance to fight and lacks self-confidence. Unlike his brother and the other Saiyans of the Universe 7, Tarble lacks the natural aggression and arrogance associated with his race. This gentle nature combined with his low fighting potential forced his father, the King Vegeta, to exile him far away from the planet of the Saiyens to avoid being embarrassed.
Despite the distance, Tarble maintains a good relationship with Prince Vegeta and considers him an inspirational role model. He holds him in great esteem, especially when he falsely congratulates him, thinking Vegeta has defeated Freezer. However, this admiration is not reciprocated, as Prince Vegeta cares absolutely nothing for Tarble’s fate.

Tarble also seems to maintain good friendly relations with his sister-in-law Bulma as well as Trunks, his nephew. Although he was concerned for the latter’s welfare, he had no problem letting Trunks go off to fight Abo and Kado. Tarble also has a very affectionate and friendly relationship with Gure, his wife whom he has known since childhood. In fact, he will introduce her to his brother, who will react with surprise when he discovers her appearance.

BIOGRAPHY OF TARBLE

Tarble was born on planet Vegeta a few years before its destruction by Freezer. Due to his low power and limited fighting potential, he was quickly classified in a lower class. His lack of skill in training and his lack of aggression prompted his father, the King Vegeta, to exile him to a planet far removed from that of the Saiyans. Thanks to this exile, Tarble escaped the genocide of his race and met Gure, who became his wife. 💍
Some two years after the defeat of Majin Buu, brothers Abo and Cado, two survivors of Freezer’s former army, attack Tarble’s home, forcing him to defend himself. After an intense battle, the Saiyan Prince realizes that he is no match for them and decides to flee with Gure to Earth to ask Vegeta for help.

Once on the human planet, Tarble announces that the evil duo pursuing him have reached a level of power that finally surpasses that of Commando Ginyu and approaches that of Freezer.

TARBLE IN THE FILM: HIS GOKU AND FRIENDS ARE BACK

When he lands on Earth, Tarble meets Son Goku and his friends, who recognize him as a Saiyan warrior thanks to his equipment and monkey tail. Vegeta calls Tarble by name and reveals that he is his own brother, which surprises everyone. Vegeta isn’t too thrilled to see his younger brother turn up like this after all this time. 🤔
The young Saiyan introduces his wife Gure to Son Goku and the others and explains that he’s being pursued by two powerful warriors from Freezer’s army.

Goku wants to fight first, but Tarble declares that the son of Bardock’s power is insufficient after scanning it with his detector. Vegeta then reprimands his brother, explaining that it’s possible to hide and decrease his power. Son Goku transforms into Super Saiyan, causing Tarble’s detector to explode. The latter is then convinced by Vegeta’s explanation and is impressed.

Shortly before Freezer’s henchmen arrive, the others also want to face the imminent threat, and a draw takes place. Goku and the others head for a radish field, and whoever finds the longest one gets the chance to fight the two aliens. Trunks wins the contest, and Gure wishes him luck.

Once on Earth, Vegeta remembers Abo and Cado and declares that they had a power roughly equivalent to that of the Ginyu Commando. Tarble adds that, with time, they have reached a level close to that of Freezer. The young Saiyan is then impressed when Goku asserts that Freezer wasn’t that powerful and that he knew far more dangerous enemies. He then feels that Abo and Cado would be perfect opponents for the kids, and with much insistence, he manages to get permission for Goten to fight Trunks in a two versus two battle.

Tarble makes another appearance later when he tries to protect Gure from enemy fire, and he appears one last time at the end of the film after the defeat of Freezer’s henchmen.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods

Tarble is mentioned in this film by Bulma, when the group wonders where they might find a sixth Saiyan to enable Son Goku to attain Divine Super Saiyan form. Bulma suggests that Tarble might join the group, but Vegeta replies that his brother is on a very distant planet and therefore unreachable. It’s also implied that the two Saiyan princes have no way of communicating with each other. 👎

TARBLE’S POWER

Despite being of royal blood, Tarble is a lower-class Saiyan and possesses a rather ridiculous fighting potential compared to that of Prince Vegeta. His low power is the reason for his banishment from Planet Vegeta. The value of his power in units is not known, but it’s possible that it’s somewhere between Raditz’s and Nappa’s. Tarble declares that he’s no match for the Abo and Cado brothers (in their base form), although the latter admitted at one point that the Saiyan prince posed them some problems.
Tarble’s power, however, is great enough to be felt by C18 and Krillin as the Saiyan’s spaceship approaches Earth.

TARBLE’S ATTACKS AND POWERS

Tarble doesn’t take part in any fights in the film in which he appears. Most of his attacks, however, were invented and shown in the video game. 👊
Canon Garrick: This is the same attack as his brother’s. It is used by all members of the Vegeta family. The user charges a sphere of violet energy in his hands, then fires a powerful beam at his opponent. This attack is quite similar to the Kamehameha technique.

Royal Garrick Cannon: This is a combined attack between the three Garrick Cannons of King Vegeta, Prince Vegeta and Tarble. This ultimate attack appears in Super Dragon Ball Heroes.

Full-power energy shot: An attack used in Raging Blast 2, Tarble extends the palm of his hand towards his opponent and fires a powerful beam of devastating blue energy.

Explosive Wave: Tarble creates an explosive wave around himself to repel and destroy enemies or the surrounding environment.

Tarble - Dragon Ball Z

Volley of super waves of energy: A technique used in Raging Blast 2, similar to that of King Vegeta. Tarble fires numerous shots of blue energy at his opponent in quick succession.

UFO Attack: This is Tarble’s ultimate attack in Raging Blast 2. The Saiyan charges his opponent and delivers a powerful blow that sends him crashing to the ground. Tarble then uses his remote control to send the coordinates of his enemy’s location. In the seconds that follow, the Saiyan’s space capsule falls from the sky at high speed and crashes violently into his opponent.

Energy boost: Tarble charges his energy and surrounds himself with a blue aura, enabling him to be faster and more focused during a confrontation.

Giant Monkey: Tarble never had the opportunity to transform during the saga. However, he does have a conspicuous monkey tail floating around him, confirming his ability to transform into a Giant Ape on full moon nights or with the aid of an artificial moon. His father and brother have the ability to maintain total mental control in this bestial form, but it’s unclear whether Tarble has the same control during his transformation.

ANECDOTES:

Now discover the most interesting anecdotes about Tarble! 😉
– Like his older brother Vegeta and the other Saiyans, his name is a pun linked to the word “vegetable”.
– He is one of the few surviving Saiyans from Universe 7 after the destruction of planet Vegeta.
– Despite his low fighting potential, he may have the ability to transform into a Super Saiyan due to his gentle nature, which brings him more or less in line with Son Goku’s character. Tarble could quickly improve by training with a good opponent like Vegeta.
– Tarble is one of the few Saiyans to never die in the entire saga. However, it’s hard to compare him to the others, as he very rarely appears and almost never fights.
– Tarble’s personality and nature are very similar to those of Gine, Son Goku’s mother. They are both pure Saiyans with tender hearts, which contrasts with the ruthless and arrogant attitude of the Saiyans of Universe 7. Both Saiyans have been classified as lower-class warriors. While this posed no problem for Gine, this detail did embarrass the royal family in Tarble’s case, resulting in his banishment.
– Tarble is mentioned in the film about Broly from Dragon Ball Super. In the prologue, after learning of the destruction of the Saiyan world, Nappa wonders if Tarble survived the genocide, and Vegeta replies that he has no idea, adding that he doesn’t care about his fate.
– It’s in the video game Dragon Ball Z Raging Blast 2 that Tarble is playable for the first time. He also has some interesting and exclusive lines when confronting his brother or other Saiyans.

Tarble is an interesting character, unfortunately not exploited enough in the saga. Apart from a few references to him, only one film is dedicated to him where he’s one of the main characters, but he’s not really brought to the fore.
