Slasher (切きり裂さき Kirisaki?) is the nickname given to a demon who appeared during the Mugen Train investigation and is responsible for several attacks on humans. He was defeated by Kyojuro Rengoku.

Slasher appears as a bald, middle-aged, fairly muscular man with lime-green eyes, black sclera and vertically slit pupils. He also has sharp, dark-blue fingernails and several prominent fangs in his mouth. Slasher’s body is entirely covered with dark blue tattoos, spread across his face, limbs and torso. These tattoos light up and emit a lighter blue light when he uses his blood demon art. He also wears a blue sleeveless shirt, black leggings, tabi socks and zōri sandals with blue straps. Slasher usually sports a manic expression on his face.

Like most of his kind, Slasher is a ruthless demon who seems only concerned with killing and devouring humans. He is also portrayed as sadistic and malevolent, bragging unscrupulously about lacerating a woman to boredom and sinking his claws into a young boy. He displays arrogance at times, looking down on the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, boasting of his speed in front of him and even challenging him to a duel on several occasions. However, Slasher is also capable of using underhand tactics, such as hostage-taking, to defeat Demon Slayers.

Slasher is also quite duplicitous, seeking to provoke Kyojuro at all costs and becoming increasingly frustrated and aggressive when the young man stands up to him, talks back and even manages to stop his murders.

Slasher has begun wreaking havoc in a village in search of prey. He spotted a young woman wandering around at night, but decided she wasn’t worth devouring. Instead, he decided to mutilate her horribly until he got bored and left her to die. The next night, he boards a train that turns out to be empty, except for an unfortunate conductor. He quickly kills him, but deems him unworthy of devouring, leaving his body behind. Slasher’s actions spread terror throughout the village, and residents became afraid to leave their homes after dark, causing the usually active night-time businesses to close. The Demon Slayer Corps then sent Kyojuro Rengoku to investigate.

Slasher stumbles upon a railway maintenance facility looking for prey. Unbeknownst to him, this facility houses the Mugen train, believed to contain a demon probably responsible for the numerous disappearances reported. He finds a young worker and captures him with his claws. The scene attracts the attention of Kyojuro, who is investigating the Mugen Train, and Slasher comes face to face with Hashira. As he complains about his situation, he accidentally steps on a bento box, claiming that human food is now disgusting to him as a demon. He provokes Kyojuro to attack him, using his blood demon art to move quickly around the Hashira and urge him to attack, warning him that the young boy will die if he attempts a direct attack. Kyojuro acknowledges his speed, but tells him not to be too sure of himself. Slasher mentions injuring a woman the night before, but Kyojuro tells him she’ll make a full recovery. Angered, Slasher notices the stepped bento box and the angry expression on Kyojuro’s face, before realizing that the box is probably from a nearby station. Deciding to kill the vendors to spite Kyojuro, he first tries to kill the boy in his arms, but gets both his hands cut off. He retreats and leaves the establishment to regrow his hands, then smells the bento vendors in the air and follows them, using his blood demon art to cover the great distance in a matter of minutes.

He arrives at the station and enters, spotting the girl setting up her bento stall. As she trembles with fear at the sight of him, Slasher moves in to kill her, only to be hit by a bento box thrown by his grandmother. Momentarily distracted by the smell, he soon catches up with the grandmother outside and tries to crush her throat. Kyojuro foils his attack and cuts his left Achilles tendon, saving the grandmother. Slasher then decides to kill the grandmother instead, but finds himself confronted by Kyojuro. Wondering aloud how he managed to catch him so quickly, Kyojuro tells him again that he shouldn’t be too proud of himself. Slasher proposes a challenge between the two to determine who’s faster, stipulating that if Kyojuro manages to kill him before he kills the girl’s grandmother, he’ll be victorious. Kyojuro mocks him as slow, then decapitates Slasher before he can react, ending his brief run of terror.

General Abilities: Slasher was a fairly powerful demon, as evidenced by his development of the blood demon art and his demonstration of skill in using it in battle. He was also slightly difficult to handle, even for a Hashira, although this was mainly due to his use of human shields. In direct combat, Slasher was no match for a Hashira.

Regeneration: Like all demons, Slasher possesses enhanced regeneration abilities. He was able to regrow both his hands within moments of cutting them off, and quickly heal his severed Achilles tendon.
