Silver Fullbuster, also known as “Silver, the Absolute Zero”, is a mage in the Tartaros guild, part of the Gate of Nine Demons. He is Grey Fullbuster’s father and Mika Fullbuster’s husband. He also possesses the magic of the Ice Demon Hunter, which he passes on to his son after Keith’s defeat.
The latter died in X774, as did his wife Mika, but was later resurrected by Keith and used as a guinea pig for his experiments.
APPARATUS
Silver is a tall, muscular man. He has short hair styled in several strands pointing back, with a few prominent spikes on his forehead. His eyes are black, like those of his son. His beard covers most of his chin. He has a lively face with sharp features and slight wrinkles under his eyes. A long scar runs from his hairline to the bottom of his left ear, probably caused by Déliora’s attack on his village. He wears a silver earring in the shape of a cross.
Silver wears a form-fitting black shirt with a thick gray fur collar and long, arm-length light-gray sleeves. The sleeve hems are secured by two double seams. He wears a suit of armor with his nickname “Absolute Zero” inscribed on his left pectoral. His shoulder pads bear the yellow guild emblem. He also wears a long white cape. His clothes under the armor are black.
In Grey’s flashback, Silver is shown without his scar and beard. He wears a dark vest with shoulder seams over a white shirt. He is not wearing earrings at this time, although they are present on Silver’s body after his supposed death at Delia’s hands. 🔥THE PRODUCTS OF THE MOMENT🔥
PERSONALITY
Unlike most of his guildmates, Silver presents himself as cheerful, friendly, somewhat playful and very calm. After identifying Natsu Dragnir as the one who melted the ice covering the Village of the Sun, he thanked him cheerfully, acknowledging his mistake in casually freezing it. He also gave a blanket to Lisana Strauss, who was naked and handcuffed, showing a certain gallantry. He called the Tartaros headquarters a “sickening piece of architecture”, showing a sense of beauty that differed from that of his comrades.
When he reassured a Tartaros messenger that he would not harm him, Silver asserted that the only souls he wishes to consume are those of demons, in contrast to his membership of an all-demon guild. Franmars, a demon from the Tartaros guild, perhaps aware of this characteristic (or simply considering the Exorcist Mage’s magic a deterrent), seems to have a certain fear or unease towards him. He sweats in his presence and respectfully calls him “Silver-sama”.
Silver’s personality seems to change radically when he’s in Grey’s presence. When he pretended to be Déliora during the battle against her son, he brutalized him, mocked his efforts and claimed that he would kill Grey’s friends afterwards. On the other hand, Grey has fond memories of his father and is sincerely attached to him. Silver sincerely congratulated his son on his victory after Grey defeated him. However, this example of sincerity seems to represent Silver’s true personality. After being resurrected by Keith, he devoted seventeen years of his new “life” to killing demons in revenge for the loss of his family. Finally, after learning that his son had not been killed by Deliora, Silver gave up his vengeance, deeming his hands too dirty to continue fighting for his son and his late wife. He regrets the way he tried to make Grey forget the trauma inflicted by Deliora and says he’s unworthy to be his father.
HISTORY
Little is known about his past, except that he was supposed to have died when Déliora attacked his village. However, at one point, Silver was seen laughing with his son, telling him to become strong. After his death, Silver’s corpse was stolen by Keith to be used in his experiments, among many other bodies. Keith’s experiments proved successful, and for seventeen years, Silver “lived” as a normal human being. During this time, Silver used his new “life” to take revenge on the demons who had kidnapped his family. He posed as a loyal member of Tartaros thanks to Mald Gheel. Silver learned Demon Hunter magic and secretly killed every demon he encountered as part of his ultimate plan to destroy Tartaros.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ice Demon Hunter Magic: A form of demon hunter magic that allows Silver to produce, manipulate and control the element of ice to kill demons. Like all hunter magics, this allows him to consume external sources of ice to boost his own power, regain stamina and give him immunity to ice. He also acquires considerable resistance to his own ice, eliminating a potentially fatal weakness. Silver has even been able to nullify a spell as powerful as Ice Cocoon. Thanks to this magic, Silver can take on a “demonic form”, although he has never shown it.
Unlike Ice Creation, which involves building elaborate structures using ice, this magic relies more on raw power. Silver generates coarse, shapeless masses of purple ice to inflict severe cuts and cause enormous blunt damage, as well as to protect himself. However, the most formidable aspect of the Ice Demon Hunter’s magic is his incredible freezing power. With a simple movement of the arm, the exorcist mage is able to instantly freeze people and vast landscapes. His mastery of this form of magic is great enough to single-handedly engulf the Village of the Sun and its Eternal Flame, which contains the remaining spirit of the Fire Dragon Atlas Flame.
Ice itself proves extremely powerful, resisting even the attacks of a fire dragon hunter. As its name suggests, it is particularly effective against demons. The magic surrounds Silver with a cold aura, and Natsu noticed that the temperature dropped sharply in her presence. After his departure, Silver passed on his magic to his son, Grey.
Frisson du Diable de Glace: Silver creates a funnel of ice shards that forms a straight line towards his target.
Laugh of the Ice Devil: Silver leaps into the air and creates large shards of ice which he releases onto his target.
Fury of the Ice Devil: After taking a deep breath, Silver blows a violent snowstorm containing ice crystals, sweeping away his opponent and causing extensive damage to the affected area.
Teleportation magic: Silver has been seen using a form of teleportation to draw himself and Grey away from the other members of Fairy Tail and Tartaros, in order to engage in separate combat. He puts his hand on his son before disappearing from their sight and reappearing elsewhere. Whether this was another use of his Ice Demon Hunter magic or a separate ability is unclear. The process seems to have a greater impact than simple teleportation, leaving a cloud of smoke and raising debris.
Telepathy: Silver has shown the ability to use telepathy at a distance, clearly communicating with Juvia from the scene of her fight with Grey.
Expert in hand-to-hand combat: Although he relies mainly on his freezing powers, Silver does well in close combat. He easily manages to fend off his son’s attacks by parrying and dodging. The Demon Hunter’s freezing abilities make it dangerous to attack him unarmed, as Grey discovered when his bare arm was covered in ice and sent tumbling.
Enhanced strength: Like his son, Silver possesses considerable physical strength. He sends Grey flying and crashing into solid rock with a simple sweep of his arm, and blocks a blow from his Cold Excalibur with his palms.
Developed agility: Silver is quick and agile, dodging Grey’s assault with a leap, counterattacking in mid-air with one of her own spells and intercepting her son as he tries to dodge, before launching another attack.
Developed durability: Silver is particularly resistant. He takes a rock shot from Grey’s Cannon, which turns out to be a cannonball, without a scratch. He also survives the impact of a huge steel ball that passes through his chest, leaving a hole. 🔥THE PRODUCTS OF THE MOMENT🔥
