When Eren attacked Revelio during Willy Tybur’s speech.

At the start of season 4, Gabi Braun and her friends returned to their hometown of Revelio. Shortly afterwards, Willy Tybur gave an impassioned speech to the leaders and ambassadors of various nations, outlining the history of Helos and King Tybur. As Willy announced that Mahr would crush Paradise Island once and for all, Eren Jäger, in his Titan Assailant form, took the initiative by making a spectacular entrance to the party.

Eren unleashed his fury, and Battalion members such as Mikasa, Armin, Sasha Braus and others supported him in this daring attack. Willy Tybur lost his life, while Eren and his companions triumphed over the Titan Hammer, securing their victory. However, the Eldians suffered some loss along the way: Sasha, who lost her life at the hands of Gabi. Connie and Jean were overwhelmed with grief.

Eren becomes an Eldian extremist and inspires a coup.

When Eren returned to Paradise Island with his companions, he didn’t simply celebrate his victory and rest on his laurels. He was already planning his next strategy, while his half-brother Sieg helped or manipulated him. Eren gave himself a pep talk in front of a mirror, reminding himself to “fight, fight”, and that’s exactly what he did. He quickly became a rebel, threatening anyone who got in his way with his three Titan Shifter powers, now including the Titan Hammer. He quickly amassed power, both as a shapeshifter and as a rebel leader.

Eren inspired an entire cult of Jägerists, who defied the military chain of command and pushed for war against Mahr. In their view, only decisive action could bring victory, and Dot Pixis and his officers were deemed too slow and cautious to offer true freedom to the Eldian people. Before long, Paradise Island split into two camps, and Mikasa and Armin didn’t exactly side with the Jägerists.

Sieg uses his cerebrospinal fluid to forcibly create Pure Titans

When Sieg and a few other Mahrs arrived on Paradise Island, they brought with them their culinary secrets, including seafood (thanks to Niccolo) and more than a little mahr wine, which was a real treat. Some of the soldiers, and almost all the officers, enjoyed the wine, unaware of its special ingredient. Sieg had added his Titan cerebrospinal fluid to it, preparing each drinker to turn into a pure Titan if Sieg let out a scream.

Some years earlier, Sieg had already tested his spinal fluid in the village of Ragako, screaming to transform all the villagers, including Connie’s mother. Now Sieg could escape any soldier by transforming them, and could take all the officers on Paradise Island hostage. By the time Mikasa and the others understood, it was too late. The weapon was already ready, and Sieg was in total control.

The possibility that memories could influence Titan’s shapeshifters

Later in the season, Eren and Armin reunited as rival Titan Shifters, and Eren broached the subject of Armin’s frequent visits to Annie Leonhart, the petrified Female Titan. Eren was aware that Bertolt Hoover had once been the carrier of the Colossal Titan, and he considered an intriguing possibility: What if Bertolt, who was once Annie’s friend, influenced her successor, Armin?

Through the power of the Titan Colossal, Bertolt’s memories could shape Armin’s mind and emotions, prompting him to visit Annie and even get close to her inanimate body in difficult times. But it could also work the other way around. Imagine now that the Metamorph powers inside Eren are manipulating him? Inside him are the spirits of Grisha Jäger, Frieda Reiss and Lara Tybur, who could be fighting to decide whether Eren should continue his war against Mahr or not. Perhaps that’s why Eren keeps repeating “fight, fight” to himself, to fend off the opposing forces inside him. In any case, Lara Tybur must disapprove of his plans.

The revelation of Sieg Jäger’s euthanasia plan

Season 4's Most Unexpected Twists And Turns!

Sieg Jäger first appeared in the form of the Bestial Titan, representing the next great challenge after the defeat of Annie’s Female Titan. However, Sieg wasn’t just a brute of war to Mahr. He had deep sympathy for all those who suffered. Ever since he was a child, he had understood that all the suffering in the world stemmed from the power of the Titans held by the Subjects of Ymir, and even the Eldians themselves were suffering in some way. It was time to put an end to this suffering by removing Eldia from the equation altogether.

At first, Sieg’s pro-Eldia plan seemed like a nationalist move. However, in reality, Sieg intended not only to defend Paradise Island from his enemies, but also to sterilize his own people using the power of the Original Titan, to allow Eldians to slowly but surely disappear from the world. Sieg didn’t want anyone to invade Paradise Island, nor did he want the old Eldian Empire to return. He preferred to let his own race rest in peace in a world without Titans.

When the Mahr forces arrived in Paradise

In the final episode of the first part of the fourth season of Attack of the Titans, Peak Finger (the Titan Charrette) intervened just as Gabi Braun and Eren were in the midst of a confrontation. Peak asserted that she was now on Eren’s side, as Mahr could not offer Eldians like Gabi and her a real future. Horrified, Gabi chained herself to Peak, and the three of them went to the roof of the building, where Peak would point out the real enemy.

On that rooftop, bathed in afternoon sunshine, Peak did indeed designate the enemy: Eren himself. At the same time, Porco’s Titan Jaw appeared from the building and violently ejected Eren from his feet, while a Mahr air fleet arrived to lay siege to Paradise Island, with Reiner Braun alongside Officer Magath aboard one of the zeppelins. Just as Eren wanted war with Mahr, now war comes to him. Will he and his three Titans be able to defend their island home in the blink of an eye? The second half of season 4 begins on a captivating note.
