APPARENCE OF RECOOME:
Recoome is a large humanoid with a very muscular body. He has fairly short orange hair, small piercing eyes and a long square chin. He wears a black jumpsuit and white battle armor, a variant of the classic Freezer forces uniform. He sports the symbol of the Commando Ginyu on one of the plates of his armor. Like all members of Freezer’s galactic empire, Recoome wears a green-colored power detector. ☝
PERSONALITY:
Recoome is the most energetic member of the Ginyu Commando. Highly dynamic, he regularly performs dances, even surpassing Captain Ginyu in terms of fighting poses. The character is presented as highly comical, as demonstrated by his participation in games of Pierre Papier Ciseau with his comrades to win chocolate bars. 😅
Recoome, though narrow-minded, makes up for his lack of intelligence with exceptional physical strength. He’s also sadistic, taking pleasure in torturing and making his opponents suffer. Recoome also likes to mock and provoke his enemies. In the uncensored version, Recoome can be seen making an obscene gesture at Son Goku, mocking his power based on his sensor data. This reinforces his provocative and intimidating aspect. 😰
Despite his flaws and nastiness, Recoome seems to feel attachment and affection towards his comrades. He maintains a strong friendship with Guldo, particularly when he encourages the latter during his fight against Krillin and Gohan. Moreover, he is deeply saddened by his companion’s death later on.
Unlike other members of the Special Forces, he doesn’t take his fights seriously and prefers to have fun, adopting energetic poses during confrontations. 👊
Recoome feels a certain respect for his opponent when he continues to fight even when all but defeated. This is particularly demonstrated when Son Gohan, totally powerless, persists in trying to get up to continue the fight to no avail.
It’s also worth noting that, like Guldo, Recoome appreciates unfair fighting techniques. This is particularly the case when he points out to Vegeta that he likes his penchant for sneak attacks from behind. 🤜
Like his Special Forces comrades, Recoome received his special powers from birth. As a child, Recoome practiced dancing, which helped him develop his agility by adopting different fighting poses. As an adult, he passed the joining tests with flying colors, joining the Ginyu Commando.
RECOOME IN THE FREEZER SAGA
After being contacted by Freezer, the Ginyu Commando arrives on the planet Namek with the mission of seizing the Dragon Balls.
The Special Forces quickly locate Vegeta, Gohan and Krillin, who were gathering the Crystal Balls. In order to have the privilege of facing the Prince of the Saiyans, Recoome and his comrades play a game of Paper Scissors and emerge victorious. 👍
After Guldo’s death, Recoome takes a fighting stance and begins his confrontation with Vegeta. The prince of the Saiyans strikes first and strings together numerous blows on his opponent, finally sending him crashing against a mountain. Recoome, not fighting seriously, suffers numerous sneaky and powerful attacks. Despite this, he emerges unscathed, but his battle armor is destroyed. 💥
The fight then becomes more serious and Recoome now has the upper hand, clearly dominating the Prince of the Saiyans. Taking very little damage, he easily defeats the prince of the Saiyans, leaving him totally helpless. Just as Recoome was about to finish off his victim with his Eraser Gun, the two earthlings intervene. Son Gohan saves Vegeta from the attack that should have wiped him out, while Krilin delivers a powerful kick to Recoome’s back. The attack is so violent that he loses most of his teeth. 😱
Recoome, now seething with anger and wishing to take revenge for Krillin’s attack, asks Barta and Jeice for permission to punish the Terrans by eliminating them. The latter accept in exchange for chocolate bars. The fight resumes and Recoome delivers a powerful kick to Krillin’s head, severely injuring him but leaving him unable to move.
Recoome then decides to have some fun with Gohan, repeatedly knocking him down while admiring the perseverance and courage of his opponent, who gets back up after each attack. The redheaded alien ends the fight by breaking Gohan’s neck with a powerful kick, flashing a sadistic smile. Just as Recoome was about to eliminate his three victims, Son Goku finally arrived. The Earth Saiyan then heals his companions using Senzu beans, which surprises Barta, Jeice and Recoome. 👍
Goku and Recoome prepare to fight, and the alien begins to mock the Saiyan’s low power indicated by his fellow creatures’ sensors. Recoome theatrically executes a new fighting pose as a warm-up. Then he starts charging up his energy to use one of his most powerful attacks, the Ultra Fighting Bomber. Just as he’s about to use his attack, Goku, with prodigious speed, delivers a powerful and unique elbow strike to his stomach, instantly knocking out Recoome. 😵
Initially frightened, Barta and Jeice then decide to attack Son Goku together. The Saiyan easily defeats his opponents, and Vegeta takes advantage of the situation to immediately eliminate Barta and Recoome with an energy blast. Jeice nevertheless manages to escape and leave the battlefield. 🤔
Once dead, Recoome later travels to the planet of the Great Kaio in the company of his fellow creatures Guldo, Barta and Jeice. There they find Tenshinhan, Chaozu and Yamcha, who had been training there since the end of the Saiyans saga. Yamcha confronts Recoome. Even though Yamcha is reluctant at the start of the fight, he easily wins against the red-haired alien who is sent to the Underworld with his fellow creatures.
OTHER WORLD AND BUU SAGA
In the Otherworld Saga, Recoome can be seen with Freezer, King Cold, Cell and the rest of his Special Forces companions in the Underworld Kingdom. The group of villains are looking for a way out when Goku intervenes. The Ginyu Commando attacks the Saiyan in unison, but is quickly defeated. Recoome then crashes into the bloody pond of the Underworld after an elbow from Goku. 🤛
After Paikuhan has defeated Freezer, King Cold and Cell, the warrior unleashes an attack creating a powerful tornado that hurls all the villains against a mountain of peaks. Recoome and his comrades find themselves impaled, and the group is once again imprisoned in the Underworld. Once in prison, Recoome proposes an arm-wrestling contest, but is immediately reprimanded by his companions. 😅
We can also catch a glimpse of Recoome back in the Underworld during Buu’s Saga, as he watches the fight between Son Goku and Majin Buu in the company of other villains.
DRAGON BALL GT AND BROLY’S FILM
Recoome appears briefly in Dragon Ball GT when he escapes from the Underworld with numerous other villains. However, he is quickly defeated again and locked in his cell once more.
In the Broly movie, Recoome is present with the rest of the Ginyu Commando. The group stands by Freezer and King Cold when the latter demands the submission of the Saiyan people to King Vegeta. 👎
RECOOME’S STRENGTH
Recoome demonstrates his overwhelming superiority against Vegeta, even when the latter is using all his power. At the time of Freezer’s saga, the Prince of the Saiyans had a power level of 30,000 units. Krillin informs us that Recoome should have about the same energy level as Barta and Jeice. When Ginyu estimates Son Goku’s power at around 60,000, Jeice asserts that Recoome had no chance of winning the fight. Thus, Recoome’s true strength can be estimated at between 30,000 and 45,000 units. 📖
Much later, in the Otherworld saga, we see that Recoome’s power has increased considerably. Goku is forced to increase his own power to get rid of him and the rest of the Special Forces. The Ginyu Commando, however, is defeated very easily, which shocks Freezer and King Cold.
RECOOME’S PREFERRED ATTACKS
Speed up: Recoome is able to increase his speed considerably by releasing his ki at his feet, enabling him to easily dodge his enemies’ attacks and get behind them.
Ki Blast: a classic attack consisting of a wave of energy.
Increased stamina: Recoome can increase his stamina by concentrating, despite his corpulence. As a result, he was able to take Vegeta’s attacks, including the Final Crash, with ease, suffering virtually no injury.
Recoome Eraser Gun: Recoome fires a powerful beam of reddish energy from his mouth. This attack has severely damaged the Namek planet, according to Krillin’s observations.
Recoome Renegade Bomber: also known as Recoome Boomba, this technique involves rapidly charging and hurling spheres of pink-red energy at the opponent, inflicting a great deal of damage.
Recoome Fighting Bomber: also known as Recoome Kaboom, this is a powerful explosive wave that Recoome unleashes around himself, destroying everything around him.

Super Breath: Recoome inhales deeply before exhaling, releasing an extremely powerful hurricane-like gust of wind. He used this technique to counter Son Gohan’s Masenko on Namek.
