APPARENCE OF MR SATAN
Satan is a tall, rather muscular man. He tends to adopt an imposing appearance when in public. His most recognizable features are his curly black afro, mustache, neatly trimmed sideburns and cleft chin. 😎
Mr. Satan is usually seen in his martial arts uniform or fitted suits. He is also known to wear more luxurious clothing when resting or making public appearances. His particularly hairy chest and arms are often exposed. He sometimes likes to don a red or white cape. 👌
At the end of Dragon Ball Z and throughout Dragon Ball GT, his curly black afro splits in two, revealing a bald spot in the center of his head, and a few wrinkles begin to appear. His moustache joins his sideburns over the years. 😆
In Dragon Ball Super, Mr. Satan’s muscular physique has visibly weakened due to his fame, preventing him from keeping up with his training. However, he retains the same appearance as in Dragon Ball Z.
PERSONALITY OF MR SATAN
During the events of the Cyborg saga, Mr Satan boasts of his power. As world champion, he is keen to preserve his reputation. He takes part in the Cell’s Games. 🏁
He continually boasts of being the strongest and “the best fighter in the world” on TV. 💪
Once there at the Cell championship, he despises Goku and his friends. He considers them his disciples and invites them to watch a real champion. Mr Satan loves women and doesn’t hesitate to use his fame (as “the one who beat Cell”) to seduce them. This later causes a break-up in his relationship. 💔
Mr Satan knows full well that he can’t defeat Cell when he meets him. He simply observes the fight and manages to pass himself off as the victor at the very end. He refers to Goku and his friends as “those guys who were there when I beat Cell”. He is aware that they are much stronger than he is, and that he must play a part to preserve his title and worldwide credibility. 😨
Mr Satan shares certain commonalities with Turtle Genius. They’re both skilled martial artists. The only difference is that Mr Satan is much more successful with women thanks to his fame and wealth. 🕺💃
He’s very protective of his daughter Videl, and wouldn’t allow her to associate with a boy unless he was stronger than her (which is impossible for him). After the Boo saga, he accepts Gohan as his son-in-law, because he knows his true power. He knows that he is Cell’s true victor and that his ultimate form, the “Ultimate Gohan”, has saved him many times against Boo. He therefore considers Gohan a worthy husband for his daughter. In Dragon Ball GT, he is also very protective of Pan during the 28th World Tournament. 😎
Despite his many signs of greed and cowardice, Mr. Satan is basically an honorable, decent, sensitive and good man. He genuinely cares about protecting the innocent and fighting for justice. He can get angry when confronted with injustice and is ready to defend the innocent. He shows great courage when his family and friends are threatened by evil. He manages to befriend Boo in a benevolent version. 🤞
Mr Satan has come in handy on several occasions. He risks his life to retrieve C16’s head and throw it near Son Gohan. It’s this action that will lead to the transformation into Super Saiyan 2 and put an end to Cell. 😡
In the Majin Buu saga, Mr Satan shows great qualities. He befriends a dog and a benevolent version of Boo. He routs two individuals who are having fun killing elderly people during the chaos that reigns in the city. He manages to separate the benevolent Boo from the evil Boo.
Later, he delivers the final blow to Little Boo by ordering Earthlings to raise their hands in the air, providing the energy needed to create the most powerful Genkidama of all time. He reaps the laurels, and the world believes he has once again defeated a formidable foe. 🤞
Mr Satan has a complex personality. Although he can be insufferable, boastful, proud and egotistical, he also possesses great qualities: he’s kind, gentle and courageous. In this, he embodies humanity, and that makes him very real.
Hercules is extremely wary of his adversaries, whom he considers more powerful than himself. His former master, for example, was murdered by an opponent he considered ridiculous. 😮
His daughter Videl was born in 756. Her mother left them both, but they are surrounded by many servants. Mr. Satan is very protective of his daughter, especially where boys are concerned.
Mr. SATAN IN DRAGON BALL Z
LA SAGA DE CELL
Mr Satan makes his appearance in the Dragon Ball Z story starting with the Cell Saga, more specifically during the championship organized by Cell. 🏁
As world champion, Hercules decides to take part in the tournament, convinced that Cell is insignificant and that he will defeat him without difficulty. Before entering the ring, Goku repeatedly tries to warn him off.
When Cell eliminates the world champion with an arm strike, the latter claims to have stumbled. Cell was undoubtedly lucky, as Hercules was about to show him one of his secret techniques. He remained on the sidelines, watching the other participants’ fights. Time and again, he claims that the energy attacks are just a trick of the light. The TV crew ridicules Goku and his friends, convinced that Mr. Satan is the only one capable of defeating Cell. 😅
Satan goes into hiding, fearing the violence of the battle. He plays a crucial role later when C-16 asks him to throw his head in front of Son Gohan. Hercules shows his bravery and takes the risk. C-16 finds himself in front of Gohan and speaks to him before being executed by Cell. This triggers an immense rage in Gohan, who then transforms into Super Saiyan 2. It’s in this form that he manages to defeat the fearsome enemy. 💪
Following the final Kamehameha, thick smoke spreads and blinds everyone. Gohan and the others leave, leaving Mr. Satan and the TV crew alone. No one has really seen what happened. When the reporter asks Satan for information, Satan claims he defeated Cell because the fight was getting boring. 😎
And so the legend is born, and Hercules becomes a true worldwide star, nicknamed “the one who defeated Cell”.
The World Championship
Seven years after Cell’s defeat, Mr. Satan has become rich and famous. According to Videl, he has become a seducer who takes advantage of his fame as champion to have relationships with many women. She also explains to Gohan that his father is no longer as strong in the martial arts as he once was. He now lives solely on his reputation and neglects training. 💰
Videl is quite gifted in martial arts and begins to disapprove of her father’s lack of seriousness. As time goes by, she wishes for an opponent to beat her father at the next world tournament, so that he learns humility and respect.
As reigning world champion, Mr. Satan is automatically entered in the world martial arts tournament. Once there, he panics when he sees the Saiyans who were present at the fight against Cell. He obviously knows he’s not up to their level. 😱
After the junior category final (Trunks wins the fight against Goten), Mr. Satan prepares for an exhibition match against Vegeta’s son. Hercules asks Trunks to hit him on the cheek. Trunks knocks him out of the ring in an instant. The audience thinks it was all a show and that Mr. Satan purposely lost to please Trunks. ✌
Later, he finds himself fighting C-18. She agrees to lose the fight in exchange for 20,000,000 Zeni (double the price). 💰
MAJIN BUU SAGA
After Fat Boo kills his master Babidi, Mr. Satan is called in to defeat the creature. To achieve this, he uses two strategies:
- Give Boo poisoned candy.
- Trap him with a surprise bomb.
For the first strategy, Fat Boo enjoys the candy and finds it delicious. As for the second, the surprise bomb makes him laugh. The cunning Satan then tricks Majin Boo into posing for a photo. He makes him lie down on his stomach while posing, thus becoming Majin Boo’s servant. As Mr. Satan plans to use a super-powered explosive to try and kill Majin Boo, he returns earlier from a killing spree with a wounded puppy, showing signs of kindness. Mr. Satan brings this goodness to the surface by helping Majin Boo heal the puppy and gently convincing him that killing is wrong. Mr. Satan and Majin Boo then form a genuine friendship and name the puppy. 🤜🤛
Later, two individuals come to kill Boo. They kill the puppy, provoking a surge of hatred. Fat Boo splits in two. Evil Boo appears before him, representing all his evil part. During the duel, the villain turns Fat Boo into chocolate and devours him. At this point, Majin Boo reappears. He spares Satan, probably thanks to Fat Boo’s influence, and sets off on a quest to eradicate the human race. 💀
Much later, Goku and Vegeta battle Little Boo, pure evil. This battle is extremely difficult. Goku wants to create a Genkidama of unparalleled power. They call on the Dragon Balls to resurrect the Earthlings. When Goku and Vegeta tell people to raise their hands in the air to transfer their energy and destroy Boo, nobody believes them. ✨
It’s at this point that Mr. Satan plays a decisive role, explaining to them that he’s the one facing Boo and that he needs their energy. All humanity raises its hands in the air and Goku obtains enough energy to defeat Boo. Mr. Satan is once again the world’s great savior. 🤞

Mr. Satan is seen throughout Dragon Ball Super. He obviously plays a secondary character role and spends a lot of time looking after his granddaughter Pan. 👧

Mr. SATAN’S 3 SECRET COMBAT TECHNIQUES
Mr. Satan is an incredible character with his own little secret techniques. Here are his three favorite methods for defeating any opponent! 👊
- Dynamite kick: Mr. Satan used it against Perfect Cell, but it had no effect outside video games.
- Satan’s Punch: Mr. Satan’s signature, it’s simply an ordinary punch preceded by Satan shouting “Satan’s Punch” when he uses it. He used it at the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament on the Fist Machine, which was destroyed by Vegeta. It’s also known as the “Megaton Punch”.
- Bomb Bomb: Mr. Satan offers his opponent a portable game console. As he begins to use it, Mr. Satan pulls away and detonates the internal bomb!
