Information about Mitsuri Kanroji
Hashira is currently in love with Obanai and was once his disciple under Kyōjurō. She possesses a singular personality and superhuman strength, attributed to her greater muscle density than ordinary humans. She is the only one capable of correctly wielding a sword made of malleable metal. In the final battle against Muzan, she is mortally wounded and, before dying at Obanai’s side, she declares her love for him.

History of Mitsuri Kanroji
Mitsuri was born with superhuman strength and a strange hair color. Because of these attributes, she was considered a freak and was rejected in matters of marriage. Her mother deemed her unmarriageable and she even dyed her hair to try to fit in more among the other girls. However, she continued to be rejected because she was too clingy towards her fiancé.
Then she met Kagaya Ubuyashiki, who advised her to reject the norm and accept her true nature. Thanks to this encounter, she joined the Demon Hunters and used her extraordinary talent and strength to attain the rank of Pillar. She also embraced the idea that she would find a stronger man to marry. However, this didn’t work, as she was far more powerful and skilled than most of her colleagues, with the exception of her fellow Pillars.
Personality of Mitsuri Kanroji
Mitsuri is an extremely emotional person, constantly full of compliments towards others in her head, which probably explains why she’s nicknamed “the Hashira of love”. She’s rather shy and always kind to others, especially Obanai, with whom she seems to have a special bond. However, she’s easily flustered and doesn’t take kindly to insults. Despite her gentle demeanor, Mitsuri shows no mercy towards demons and instead expresses her feelings with passion.
She is, however, desperate to find a husband stronger than herself, which is difficult given her playful physical strength.
In addition to her rather emotional personality, Mitsuri can sometimes seem a little childish. When asked to explain the process of obtaining the Mark of the Demon Slayer, she describes it using noises and sounds.
She’s a very caring person who always expresses her love for others, as required by her title of Hashira. She can be very enthusiastic, hugging her friends after the battle with Gyokko and Hantengu.
When she’s badly wounded by Muzan and kept away from battle by Obanai, she expresses a desire to be useful and not a burden to others. She even begs Obanai to come back and not get killed. This shows her love for him, the person with whom she can finally feel loved. She shares Obanai’s hope that they can be reincarnated, reunited and married in another life.
Mitsuri Kanroji’s abilities and powers
Mitsuri, as a member of the Hashira Demon Slayer Corps, is a swordswoman of great power.
Mitsuri Kanroji’s natural abilities
Speed enhancement: during her fight against Top Rank 4, Mitsuri manages to surpass her usual attacks, prompting her opponent to use the Demonic Arts of Blood. After awakening her Demon Slayer mark, her speed increases further. However, she’s not as fast as some of her Hashira comrades, as demonstrated in the battle against Muzan, where she struggled to keep up with him, finding herself forced to rely on luck and instinct to dodge. Unfortunately, this proved fruitless as she suffered multiple attacks, forcing her to withdraw from the fight altogether.
Enhanced strength: Since the age of one, Mitsuri has possessed incredible strength that enables her to lift heavy objects, some weighing up to 120 pounds. During the battle against Muzan, Mitsuri was even able to physically grasp one of Muzan’s tentacles and tear it apart without the aid of her sword.
Unique constitution: Kanroji has a peculiar muscular structure with a density eight times greater than that of an ordinary human being. Although his limbs are slender, they possess unrivalled strength and endurance, enabling him to maintain the integrity of his body even after a close attack from the Fourth Superior Demon. To preserve his constitution, Kanroji must consume as much food as three sumo wrestlers.
Flexibility: In addition to her extreme physical strength and robust body, Mitsuri possesses incredible flexibility and agile reflexes. She is able to dodge and outmaneuver attacks of the fourth-highest rank, and she exploits this unique constitution and flexibility to launch powerful attacks.
Mark of the Demon Slayer: During her battle with Hantengu’s hate clone, Zohakuten, Mitsuri unconsciously awoke and obtained her Demon Slayer Mark. This mark takes the form of two hearts inverted and opposite each other, with angel wings on either side where the two ends of the hearts meet near her neck, close to her collarbone. When this mark manifested itself, Mitsuri’s physical strength, stamina, precision and power increased dramatically, to the point where she was able to compete on equal terms with Zohakuten, even when he was using his most powerful techniques against her.
The art of the sword
A unique weapon: Mitsuri wields a “love sword” that is extremely fine and supple, similar to a whip. She masters the fastest techniques among the Hashira thanks to the suppleness of her blade, the softness of her muscles and the mobility of her joints. Because of the difficulty of wielding this sword, she is the only one capable of using it. Like Shinobu Kocho, Obanai Iguro, Tengen Uzui and Gyomei Himejima, the weapon Mitsuri wields was specially created for her. Unlike Shinobu and Gyomei, who use their unique weapons to compensate for their weaknesses (a relatively weak body and blindness), Mitsuri exploits her weapon to take advantage of her natural talents.
.Love Breathing: By making full use of her body’s unique constitution, Mitsuri has developed a breathing style that combines her superhuman strength and flexibility to create a unique yet powerful sword style. This style enables her to deliver multiple powerful blows to her target while maintaining impressive speed, agility and flexibility.
First style: Thrills of first love – Kanroji advances by throwing a series of sword strikes.
Second style: Anguish sparking love – A long series of lashes.
Third style: Shower of pretty kittens – Kanroji jumps up and quickly sequences a series of circular attacks from a distance.
Fifth style: Hesitant attachment: Messy Nails – Kanroji somersaults backwards through the air, creating a long series of whip-like attacks, before wrapping his sword around his opponent’s neck.
Sixth style: Cat’s paw love breeze – Kanroji performs an inverted rotation and creates a spiral slash with his sword to deflect attacks.
