Luxus Draer, one of the five most powerful S-rank mages in the Fairy Tail guild, is also the leader of the Raijin Unit and a second-generation lightning dragon hunter. He is the grandson of Makarof Draer, the master of Fairy Tail, and the son of Iwan Draer, the master of the Raven Tail guild.
After the dissolution of Fairy Tail following the war against Tartaros, he and his Raijin Unit joined the Blue Pegasus guild. However, after Fairy Tail’s recovery and rebirth, he and the others returned to Fairy Tail.
HISTORY
Since childhood, Luxus has vowed to grow stronger and surpass his grandfather in order to prove his worth and become a man in his own right. His father was expelled from the guild because he posed a threat to Fairy Tail. This infuriated Luxus, and he tried to convince Makarof to reinstate his father, as they were still members of the same family. However, Makarof refused. Luxus’ father then founded his own guild, the Raven Tail Guild. Luxus attained the rank of S-rank mage in X778, at the age of one. As he is also Makarof’s grandson, Luxus has always felt that he is in the shadows and doesn’t get the credit he deserves. 🔥THE PRODUCTS OF THE MOMENT🔥
APPARENCE
Luxus is a tall, muscular figure, with blond hair combed back and a spiky lock that falls in small tufts over his forehead. His eyes are a mixture of gray and blue. His right eye bears a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt. The guild symbol is tattooed on the left side of his pelvis, and he has another tattoo covering his left shoulder and back. Luxus is almost always seen wearing headphones, listening to classic rock and roll. He wears a black fur jacket, purple shirt and black pants. On his first appearance, he wore a yellow shirt with black patterns and a helmet.
PERSONALITY
Luxus was initially described as arrogant, bossy, egotistical and mocking of his comrades. He considered himself the strongest member of Fairy Tail and despised those he considered weak, berating them harshly or even harming them if they got in his way.
He seemed to place very little importance on his guildmates, usually asking them to give him something in return for his help. On one occasion, during the conflict between Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord, he was even lecherous, offering his help on condition that Lucy Heartfilia became his girlfriend and Kanna Alperona undressed in front of him.
Even his trusted Thunder Gods tribe were not spared his behavior. We can see this when he’s about to attack Fried Justin for contradicting him. The only things that really seemed to matter to him were Fairy Tail’s strength and reputation, and he became furious whenever anyone questioned them. During his battle with Natsu Dragnir and Gajil Redfox, he went into a state of fury where he showed his most ruthless side, mocking Makarof’s probable death and seeking to destroy not only Fairy Tail, but all the people of Magnoria to achieve his goals.
When he was a teenager, Luxus was a very sweet boy attached to his paternal grandfather, Makarof, and he admired Fairy Tail immensely. However, this changed when he was expelled from the guild. Luxus began to believe more and more that his fame was due to the fact that he was Makarof’s grandson and not to his own skills. This drove him to want to prove that he was a powerful mage in his own right.
However, after his exclusion, it seems his attitude changed. He became lighter and more serene, and learned to appreciate the guild in its current state. He was even prepared to take sole responsibility for his crimes so that the Tribe of the God of Thunder could remain a member of the guild. Even before his expulsion, Fried claimed that Luxus had inherited not only Makarof’s magical powers, but also his sense of camaraderie, as evidenced by the fact that neither his guildmates nor the people of Magnoria were affected by Fairy Law. At the Fantasia Parade, when Makarof, alongside the entire Fairy Tail, silently made it clear that he would always look out for him before his departure, Luxus wept and felt ashamed for his past actions.
Although he was a potential candidate to succeed his grandfather as head of Fairy Tail, Makarof initially doubted his intentions, and it turned out that Luxus planned to eliminate all weak members once he was master of the guild, in order to create the most powerful guild in the country. However, this seems to have changed after his expulsion and “redemption”, as Makarof entrusted him with his will from afar after their brief confrontation with Hades.
As a dragon hunter, Luxus suffers from motion sickness, although he’s extremely ashamed to admit it.
MAGIC AND SKILLS
Lightning magic: Luxus has perfect mastery of lightning magic, enabling him to generate, control and manipulate electricity at will. By generating electricity on different parts of his body, he can make melee attacks more deadly and gain speed by propelling himself. The bright light of his flashes can also temporarily blind enemies. What’s more, like all elemental magic, lightning magic allows Luxus to transform his body into lightning bolts to evade enemy attacks, move quickly and strike all opponents in his path. 🔥THE PRODUCTS OF THE MOMENT🔥
Magic of the Lightning Dragon Hunter: Luxus possesses a special magic that gives him the power and characteristics of a lightning dragon, as well as the ability to feed on external sources of his element to heal himself and regain power, making him immune to lightning. Its attacks, based on electricity like standard lightning magic, are highly destructive. However, they can be deflected by metal objects acting as lightning rods, as demonstrated when Gajil used his iron dragon club to save Natsu from the Howling Celestial Thunder Dragon. Luxus kept the true nature of his magic secret from all his guildmates, including Makarof, declaring that he had had enough of his grandfather’s lessons. However, it turned out that the magic had been implanted in him by his father using a Dragon Lacrima, as he was considered “fragile” despite his magical potential. This makes Luxus a second-generation dragon hunter.
