APPARENCE

Lucy is a young woman of medium height, with long blond hair that was often tied on the right side of her head with ribbons of different colors, while the rest of her hair is loose. She has pretty hazel eyes. In X791, she tends to keep her hair up in a ponytail more often. In X792, her hair is much longer and she always keeps it in a side ponytail.

Lucy likes to change outfits regularly. She usually wears a very short skirt and a crop top that reveals her belly and most of her legs. She has a pink Fairy Tail mark on the back of her right hand. Her clothing varies, but she always wears a belt that holds her skirt up and contains her Celestial Keys, as well as a brown whip with a heart at its end. She also wears high-heeled black leather boots. She looks a lot like her mother.

PERSONALITY

Lucy is proud of her appearance and confident in her charm, which can give the impression of vanity. Despite this superficial attitude, she is intelligent, kind and caring. She treats her Heavenly Spirits with love and refuses to use them as shields. She sees her spirits as individuals in their own right, unlike other Constellation Mages who see them as mere tools. She despises those who treat spirits in this way. Lucy will do anything to make her spirits happy, even at the risk of her own life.
Lucy has a passion for literature and is writing her own novel about her adventures in Fairy Tail. Aside from writing and reading, she enjoys shopping, cooking and the company of confident men. Her favorite colors are blue and pink. She was once a wealthy heiress of the Heartfilia family, one of the richest and most influential families in the Kingdom of Fiore. However, due to her conflict with her father and the death of her mother, Layla Heartfilia, she left her home to follow her own path and join a mage guild like Fairy Tail.

Although she technically owns her Spirits, Lucy refuses to use them as shields and prefers to develop a sincere friendship with them. She may appear relaxed most of the time, but that doesn’t stop her from fighting. She’s ready to face danger and sacrifice herself for her friends and guild. Although her magic is generally not as powerful as that of her teammates, Lucy has proven herself to be a competent fighter. She uses her wits and thinks outside the box in battle. She has inherited Natsu’s determination and refuses to give up, even when the odds are stacked against her.

Lucy has a tendency to panic in the face of her guildmates’ jokes. Unlike her friends, she isn’t too keen on the idea of fighting, but she recognizes that their presence is fun. As a Constellationist Mage, Lucy always keeps her promises and puts all her energy into the good of her guild and her friends.

HISTORY

Lucy comes from the wealthy Heartfilia family. Her parents were members of a merchant guild called “Love & Lucky”, where they met. When Lucy’s mother Layla became pregnant, her parents decided to leave the guild and become independent. They chose to name their daughter “Lucy”, replacing the missing letter “K” in the guild sign with their daughter’s first name. Lucy enjoyed a good relationship with the house staff and her mother until the latter died of an unknown illness when Lucy was 10, in the year X777. Her father, obsessed with his business and money, neglected his only daughter. This led Lucy to flee her home at the age of 16, just over a year before the story begins.
MAGIC AND CAPABILITIES

Constellation Magic: Lucy uses Constellation Magic, which allows her to summon Celestial Spirits from another world using the corresponding keys. When she summons a spirit, the keys glow with a golden light. Once she has made a contract with a spirit, she can summon it to fight at her side and perform various tasks. Each Celestial Spirit has specific powers and varying levels of potency. Some are more suited to combat, while others specialize in other areas.

For example, Aquarius can manipulate water and create powerful waves to overwhelm enemies, while Taurus possesses exceptional physical strength and is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant. The Celestial Spirits have their own personalities and can act autonomously, sometimes even ignoring Lucy’s orders, which can be a source of comedy. Lucy refuses to use them as shields, preferring a relationship based on friendship. The amount of magical power she possesses limits her ability to summon spirits. The more powerful spirits she summons, the more she depletes her magic. However, Lucy has shown great resilience and has managed to summon five of her Zodiac Keys in one day, which is a remarkable feat. She is also able to summon Celestial Spirits without using the keys.

Urano Metria: This is the ultimate Constellation Magic spell, which has been temporarily granted to Lucy thanks to the magic of Hibiki Leithis. After reciting the incantation, the spell is cast. Lucy enters a trance-like state and star-shaped lights appear around the target, followed by a dark blanket similar to a night sky. The lights explode simultaneously, inflicting heavy damage on the target. Once the spell has been cast, Lucy regains consciousness without remembering what she has done. This spell is extremely powerful but difficult to master, and Lucy finds herself exhausted after using it. She used it in her fight against Angel, a member of Oracion Seis. Later, during the Arc of the Great Tournament of Magic, Lucy combined her power with Gemini’s to cast the spell, but it was cancelled before it could take effect. She then manages to use Urano Metria on her own by summoning Aquarius to defeat Jackal, a demon from the Tartaros guild.

Improved resistance: Despite her fragile appearance and aversion to combat, Lucy has proved that she possesses great resistance. She survived a sadistic attack by Zero while unconscious and got back up after being hit by Kain Hikaru, a magician capable of shattering trees and rocks with his brute strength. She also dodged Kain’s attacks designed to crush her. In the battle against Hades, she survived the explosion of an explosive alongside Erza.

Great intelligence: Lucy is a highly intelligent, logical and intuitive mage. She’s able to detect subtleties, like when she discovered that Bora had slipped a sleeping pill into her drink without tasting it. As a keen reader, she also excels at solving word puzzles and riddles. She was able to break the spell placed on her Daybreak book by Zekua Melon and understand its true content. During the Class S test, she was the only one to easily find the location of Mavis Vermilion’s grave by deciphering “clues” hidden in the test. She appears to be the only Fairy Tail member to possess this skill.

Whip specialist: Although she doesn’t use this skill often due to her aversion to direct combat, Lucy is adept at using the whip. She can grab her opponents and use it as an effective short- to medium-range weapon.

Hand-to-hand combat: Although she’s not as skilled as her teammates in this area, Lucy does possess close-combat skills. She particularly excels at kicking and sent Reedus flying with a single kick, even though he was taller than her. She’s used kicks in both comedic situations and real fights.

Lucy’s kick: This is a “final attack” that is actually a simple kick in close combat. Lucy rushes towards her target, jumps up and uses her momentum to kick her opponent. Although not a particularly powerful or exclusive attack, it has proved effective against Naked Mummy Guild members attempting to loot the Love & Lucky Merchant Guild, as well as in her clash with Fairy Tail mage Bixrow.
