Guldo - Dragon Ball Z

APPARENCE

Guldo is a tiny extraterrestrial, with green skin and a round skull. He has four eyes, two normal ones like humans and two larger ones located on the sides of his head. Like the other members of Frieza’s army and the Saiyans, Guldo wears white combat armor and a black suit. The Ginyu Commando symbol can be seen on one of the plates of his armor. Unlike the others, he has no power sensor due to the size of his skull. 😅

PERSONALITY

Guldo hates the Saiyans and Vegeta in particular because of the past conflicts they’ve had together (only shown in the anime). He despises all Saiyan warriors and hates them fiercely. This is particularly evident when he plays Rock Paper Scissors with Reecome, Jeice and Barta, hoping to earn the right to face Vegeta after all these years. 😂
Being the weakest of the Ginyu Commando members, Guldo seems to suffer from an inferiority complex and proves extremely cowardly when things don’t go as planned. Aware of his position in Freezer’s army, Guldo is very proud of his status and does his utmost to remain in the Special Forces. This alien mutant is sadistic, as evidenced in particular by his tendency to torment Krillin and Gohan after paralyzing them. He also shows his cruelty by announcing that he intends to devour them after skewering them. 👊

Like the other members of the Ginyu Commando, Guldo inherited his special powers from his earliest childhood. Over time, he learned to develop and improve his psychic powers. ✨

He had to face the other members of the Special Forces during his membership test and managed to prove his worth thanks to his powers, which made a strong impression.

After an anime-exclusive flashback, we see his dislike of Vegeta, following the Saiyan prince’s insults to Guldo’s appearance and breath. Vegeta went so far as to question the alien’s presence in the Special Forces. Guldo was about to strike Vegeta in response to this provocation, but was stopped by Frieza. The latter asked for the Saiyan prince’s help in conquering a planet, which disgraced and humiliated Guldo. 👎

About a year before the Special Forces went to Namek, Guldo was invited to join Ginyu’s training club and follow a special diet, but he refused, preferring to adopt an unhealthy eating lifestyle. He would later regret this decision, as it destroyed what little stamina he possessed. 😵

GULDO IN DRAGON BALL Z: SAGA FREEZER

Shortly after arriving on planet Namek and following Frieza’s orders, Guldo and the other members of the Ginyu Commando encounter Gohan, Krillin and Vegeta as they attempt to gather the Dragon Balls to summon the sacred dragon. To avoid having his Dragon Balls stolen, Vegeta tries to throw one of them far away, but it is intercepted by Barta’s supernatural speed. The Saiyan prince then orders Krillin to destroy the ball he was holding, but it’s at this moment that Guldo stops time and snatches the Dragon Ball from his hands. 🤛

Guldo then proposes a game of Stone-Paper-Scissors to his companions to decide who will have the privilege of fighting Vegeta, and Recoome wins. Guldo, as second-in-command, therefore finds himself forced to fight Gohan and Krillin, much to his regret.

The alien, although initially very confident, is quickly caught off guard by the strength and speed of the two Earthlings. Faced with this situation, Guldo decides to use cunning and cowardly attacks, such as freezing time, to counter his opponents. However, these are far too fast, forcing Guldo to flee by regularly slowing down time. Lacking stamina, the alien begins to realize that the time freeze won’t get him anywhere. 👽

Seeing that he’s totally impotent and outmatched, Guldo then decides to make full use of his potential. He thus uses mind paralysis to render Gohan and Krillin totally powerless, immobilizing them. Guldo then takes advantage of the situation to deliver several blows to their faces while mocking them. After this session of sadism, the alien seizes a enormous tree trunk carved into a point thanks to his telekinesis, with the aim of skewering his opponents. ☄

It was at this point, as he was about to finish off Gohan and Krillin, that Guldo was decapitated in a single blow by Vegeta, who decided to intervene. Guldo’s severed head then rolls to the ground of Namek, as he curses the Saiyan prince for not accepting the deal that had been agreed. Vegeta then finishes Guldo off with an energy attack that causes a powerful explosion, reducing his head to dust. 💀

Much later, in an anime-only arc, Guldo travels with Reecome, Jeice and Barta to the planet of Master Kaio. Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Krillin and Chaozu are present at the time and are initially frightened by the Ginyu Commando, knowing that Vegeta had been defeated by its members. Tenshinhan manages to defeat Barta and Jeice, while Yamcha emerges victorious from his battle with Reecome. For his part, Chaozu, who also possesses psychic powers, manages to overcome his fear and defeat Guldo for good. 💥

SAGA OF BUU AND THE OTHER WORLD

In an anime-exclusive scene, Guldo appears with the other members of the Ginyu Commando, alongside Frieza, Super Cell and King Cold. They are looking for a way to escape from the Underworld. Goku intervenes and knocks out every member of the Special Forces in a single blow. Paikuhan then appears and manages to defeat Cell, Frieza and King Cold simultaneously. Guldo and the other villains are finally all locked up in a cell in the Underworld. 😱
In the saga of Majin Buu, Guldo can be seen once again in Hell, observing the fight between Son Goku and Kid Buu in the company of other villains.
