APPARENCE OF CHAMPA
Champa‘s appearance is very similar to that of his twin brother, Beerus. Like the latter, he has a humanoid appearance. He looks like a purple cat and wears similar clothes to his brother. However, his build is more imposing and his tail shorter.
His clothes recall those of the ancient Egyptian gods. He wears a large red and pink necklace with white edges. He also wears gold jewelry such as bracelets and an earring. According to Vados, his assistant, Champa was slimmer in the past, but has put on a lot of weight over time. 🤔
CHAMPA’S PERSONALITY
Like Beerus, Champa cares little for the fate of others. He is above all a god of destruction, which makes him indifferent to the death of others. Champa regularly asks Vados for help to avoid doing his work. He is particularly lazy. He can be somewhat devious, especially when illegally searching for Super Dragon Balls across Universe 7. Later, during the tournament against Beerus’ team, he changes the rules to benefit his fighters. 😈
Compared to his brother, Champa is less “dignified”, often dodging awkward questions and tricky problems. He has no real sense of responsibility and is not very emotionally mature. Champa could also be said to be selfish. His rivalry with Beerus makes him itch, and all he thinks about is dominating his brother. Even during the Tournament of Power, Champa’s main goal was to humiliate Beerus. 👎
When Champa discovers Earth food, he immediately demands a similar planet so he can enjoy it to the full. He also has a very low tolerance for failure and defeat. When he loses, he’s a very bad loser. He doesn’t hesitate to get angry and blame everyone. As far as nutrition is concerned, Champa has a pronounced taste for sweets and drinks. He neglects his health and puts on a lot of weight. Champa is not as intelligent as Beerus. An example of this is when Goku and Vegeta move slowly because of their combinations. Champa doesn’t notice and thinks they’re weak. 🥗
Despite all these flaws, Champa is able to show genuine respect and admiration. This can be seen at the Tournament of Power, after the elimination of his champion Hit. Champa doesn’t get upset and congratulates him on his performance anyway. When it comes to Cabba’s elimination, it’s more Freezer, the man in charge, who is targeted. 👍
Although Champa has recruited Frost to his team, he expresses distaste for his nature and doesn’t feel obliged to help him in times of trouble. When all the Universe 6 fighters are eliminated, Champa bids his brother farewell, admittedly in a mocking manner. However, this shows that he feels a certain attachment to his brother. The feeling is mutual, as Beerus seems to be touched by his disappearance. When he is resurrected thanks to the Super Dragon Balls, Champa guesses that it’s thanks to Beerus, although he has no idea who won the tournament. 🤔
Champa can be strategic. During the tournament, he encourages his team to avoid getting involved in unnecessary conflicts. He prefers to focus on Universe 7 in order to regain the advantage in terms of numerical superiority.
BIOGRAPHY OF CHAMPA
BEFORE THE DRAGON BALL SUPER EVENTS
A very long time ago, on his birthday, Champa was seized with a tantrum against Beerus because the latter had eaten his Puff Puff fruit. Beerus claimed it was his birthday too. The two brothers quarreled and Champa attacked with his “Threat of the God of Destruction” technique to push Beerus back to a planet populated by humanoid birds. Beerus managed to dodge the explosions, leading to the destruction of the planet in question. This conflict between the two brothers is said to have caused widespread destruction across the universe. It took the intervention of Vados and Whis to put an end to their destructive madness. From then on, the gods of destruction made a pact. From now on, competitions will take the form of food confrontations rather than fights. 💥
Next, Champa set off for several decades in search of the Super Dragon Balls. He managed to find six of them.
CHAMPA IN DRAGON BALL SUPER
EARLY SAGAS
Champa first appears in the “Battle of the Gods” and “Resurrection of F” sagas. In the manga, Champa and Vados scour Universe 7 in search of the Super Dragon Balls, spotted by the Kaio-shin gods. Champa lacks discretion and regrets that his conversation with Vados is being overheard. He questions the gods about what they’ve heard, but they deny it. 😅
Later, Champa heads for a Super Dragon Ball and encounters a ship belonging to Freezer’s forces. The latter report back to investigate the origin of this enormous orb. Champa decides to destroy the ship to take possession of the ball. This event ultimately leads to Freezer’s resurrection. Champa and Vados continue their journey through Universe 7, destroying several worlds to find the missing orb. 💥
They meet Beerus and Whis, exchange a few words, then head off again. Champa’s presence in this universe raises many questions for Beerus.
SAGA OF THE UNIVERSE 6
During a visit to the planet of Beerus, Champa asks who these two warriors are, Goku and Vegeta. Indeed, the two Saiyans are training with Whis to increase their power. Vados explains to Goku and Vegeta that Champa is the twin brother of Beerus and the God of Destruction of Universe 6 ✨
Champa demands that Beerus be awakened to organize a food competition. This takes place and Beerus wins hands down thanks to instant Earth pasta. Champa asks Vados if he also has a similar planet in his universe. However, it seems that Earth’s twin has been destroyed in a major war. Champa is desperate to get his hands on such a planet, as the food there is delicious. He challenges Beerus to a tournament pitting their respective universes against each other. Each must present 5 warriors. If universe 6 wins, he gets the Earth from universe 7. On the other hand, if it loses, it will have to hand over the Super Dragon Balls to Beerus. Champa is therefore confident of victory. 🐉
The rules are the same as those for the World Martial Arts Tournament. The competition begins in five earth days. Before leaving, Champa is convinced that Vegeta and Goku are incompetents and pose no threat. He travels to an unnamed planet to create an arena to house the participants. He also asks his assistant, Vados, to select the best fighters from Universe 6. He also decides to include at least one Saiyan in his team, as Beerus will do the same with Goku and Vegeta. 👊
Later, Champa makes the selection himself and recruits Hit, Cabba, Botamo, Auta Magetta and Frost.
The day of the tournament arrives and Champa awaits the arrival of the fighters from Universe 7. He looks forward to their presence once they arrive. Beerus and Champa discuss the Super Dragon Balls. Then it’s time for the written exam. This is a simple little test to check that the fighters aren’t too stupid. Majin Buu is the only one to fail, creating a four-to-five power ratio. 🤛

The first match pits Goku against Botamo. Champa quickly realizes that he has underestimated the Saiyan. Son Goku manages to eliminate his opponent by knocking him out of the ring, provoking Champa’s anger. Accusations of cheating are made, but dismissed. The second match between Goku and Frost will now begin… 🏁
Champa is intrigued by Frost’s participation, as this fighter has a very bad reputation in his universe. Vados explains the agreement made with Frost. In the event of victory, Champa would support his fighter in his projects. The God of Destruction remained indifferent, observing the fight. The confrontation swings in Frost’s favor. Goku is eliminated thanks to a poisoned needle concealed at the end of Frost’s tail. Champa smiles and rejoices in the victory 😀
Frost from Universe 6 is cunning and devious.
Later, the fight between Piccolo and Frost begins. Champa complains about Piccolo’s playing style, once again accusing him of cheating. However, the Namek warrior is quickly eliminated from the tournament by Frost, again thanks to that poisoned needle.
It is Jaco who detects the deception and asks the referee to check the body. Champa strongly objects to this request, claiming that the accusations are unfounded. However, he is forced to agree, but threatens Jaco with destruction if he makes a mistake. The poisoned needles are detected. Champa is shocked by this revelation. Vados explains that this is not surprising, as Frost is actually a space plunderer. He has a habit of buying worlds destroyed by war and selling them on once they’ve been rebuilt. After this revelation, Champa lashes out at Vados for recruiting this malevolent fighter. However, his assistant points out that there was never any question of taking character into account. Champa is furious and wants to eliminate Frost immediately. However, Vados explains that Frost is not disqualified and that his team has the numerical advantage. It could be strategic not to destroy him and continue with the tournament. Champa agrees, as he absolutely wants to win the tournament against Beerus. So he backs Frost, promising him unconditional support if he wins. 🥇
The tournament continues and the fighters come and go. Vegeta is eliminated very easily by Hit. Goku is allowed back into the fight as he was eliminated due to Frost’s cheating. The fight between the two champions begins. When Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken, Champa orders Hit to finish him off quickly, aware of the danger. He doesn’t care about fairness and is desperate for victory. Hit hates being taken for a pawn and offers victory to Universe 7 by pretending to be Monaka. 🥇
Champa is seized by a fit of rage and plans to destroy his entire team. However, the arrival of King Zeno prevents him from acting, saving the fighters. Champa and his brother quickly make their way to greet the king. Both are frozen in fear before the ultimate creator who reigns over all universes. When Zeno jokes about changing Gods of Destruction, both brothers are terrified. Champa is baffled when Goku shakes Zeno’s hand. Once back in his royal palace, Champa agrees to hand over his six Dragon Balls to his brother. He returns to Universe 6 with Vados. On the return journey, his assistant explains that Universe 6 Earth has been restored to normal. Champa understands that Beerus has given him a gift, but it upsets him all the same. 🌍
FUTURE TRUNKS SAGA
After the defeat of Zamasu and Goku Black, Champa offers Beerus a new challenge. It involves a baseball match between the two universes. But Champa is cunning and doesn’t care about the match. His real goal is to enjoy the delicious food of planet Earth. Despite this, Vados insists that Champa participate in the tournament himself. She explains that he’ll be able to enjoy the food even more if he’s exercised beforehand. Champa takes note of the rules. ⚾
Champa’s team consists of himself, Cabba, Botamo, Magetta, Vegeta and Goten (the latter two replacing Hit and Frost). Champa announces that Hit is nowhere to be found.
The match begins and is truly surprising. Goku uses all his power to hit the ball, creating an unprecedented explosion. The ball is projected into space. The competition continues with some incredible action for the average person. Champa is a sore loser and complains a lot. The two gods of destruction end up fighting each other, and Whis and Vados are forced to calm them down. On the way home, Champa is very frustrated and says he’ll never know defeat again. Indeed, Universe 7 wins thanks to Yamcha. 🥇
Later, when Hit tracks down Goku to kill him, Champa and Vados come to Earth to discreetly observe the fight. Champa is surprised by Hit’s new abilities. Indeed, the Saiyan finds it hard to hit his opponent. Hit is able to freeze time in a specific area, creating illusions and time jumps. Even Champa has trouble understanding how Hit achieves this, and humorously declares that he doesn’t get it. He deduces that Goku will be a formidable opponent in the final tournament. When Goku’s friends arrive on the scene, Champa and Vados quickly return to their world. 🪐
UNIVERSE SURVIVAL SAGA
The Tournament of Power is about to begin! This ruthless competition features several universes, each fielding 10 fighters. The last survivor will save his or her universe and also gain access to the 7 Super Dragon Balls.
At Zeno’s exhibition tournament, Champa appears alongside Vados, his angel, and Fuwa, his Kaio Shin. They represent Universe 6. When Son Goku calls Zeno “Zen-Chan”, Champa becomes angry and annoyed at this lack of respect. He attends the first matches and becomes terrified when the high priest announces the rules. Losing universes will be annihilated. Champa is anxious because he knows that Vados is in no danger, as angels cannot be eliminated. 💥
Champa watches the fights carefully and once again sees that Goku could be a real problem. When this little competition comes to an end, Champa asks Vados to recruit the 10 best warriors, and he asks if Hit will be part of the team. This warrior is the strongest in Universe 6, and Champa is desperate to have him on his team. 💪
At the final tournament, Champa is truly impressed by the “Super Survival” mode deployed by Narirama. He’s delighted to see that Hit stops him without too much difficulty. Champa even applauds the Danger trio from universe 9 when they take on universe 7. He does this, of course, to annoy his brother. When Frost knocks out Krillin, Champa openly mocks Beerus. He reminds him that the countdown to the elimination of Universe 7 has begun! 👎
When Botamo is knocked out, Champa is furious. When Hit faces Dyspo, he worries as his champion encounters difficulties against the Pride Trooper. Goku comes to Hit’s aid, soothing Champa’s emotional state.
Later, Frost challenges Freezer. When he thinks the god will turn against Universe 7, Champa encourages him. However, he is furious when Freezer betrays Frost to get him out of the ring. He threatens all his warriors with destruction if they decide to cheat. 💥
Later, Champa witnesses Hit’s terrible defeat at the hands of Jiren the Grey. Despite this, he congratulates his champion even after he has been eliminated. This reaction is surprising, but it shows a positive side of Champa. He’s convinced that his defeat will motivate his other fighters. What’s more, he’s confident because he gave the Potaras to Kale and Caulifla. For the rest of the tournament, he orders all his warriors to take on Universe 7. When Kefla appears on the field, he rejoices in this devastating power. However, when Goku Ultra Instinct eliminates Kefla, Champa begins to admit defeat. He is left with only two Namek warriors, Saonel and Pilina.
The latter two face Piccolo and Gohan. After a fine fight, the two Universe 6 warriors are defeated and leave the arena. All the fighters are thus eliminated. As King Zeno prepares to destroy Universe 6, Champa accepts his fate and summons Beerus. He gives him one last grimace before disappearing. 💥
After the tournament, when the universes are restored, Champa understands that Beerus has won. However, he declares that he owes him nothing, not even a simple “thank you”.
HOW POWERFUL IS CHAMPA?
Champa is a god of destruction and trains with Vados. This gives him incredible power. After the defeat of Universe 6 in the first tournament, he announces that he will destroy his entire team. It’s Zeno’s arrival that saves the defeated fighters. 👍
We learn that Champa is slightly less powerful than Beerus, according to Vados. The latter claims that the difference is obvious by looking at their physiques. Indeed, Champa is quite corpulent, which puts him at a disadvantage compared to Beerus, who is slimmer. Beerus laughs when Champa suggests a fight. 😂
When the two gods clashed in the past, it resulted in the destruction of many planets. Their battle caused extensive damage and the intervention of Whis and Vados was necessary to put them out of action, otherwise they would have destroyed an entire universe. The two angels are keeping a close eye on them, as their destructive energy is capable of wiping out universes 6 and 7. 💥
In the anime, we learn that his overweight prevents him from fighting for long periods as he tires easily. However, this makes him somewhat more resilient from a defensive point of view.
Although Vados says it’s obvious which of the two is more powerful, Champa represents a real challenge for Beerus. This was evident in the baseball competition, where the god of destruction from Universe 6 seemed up to the task. So it’s entirely conceivable that they’re roughly equal in terms of power, with only a slight difference. Beerus has better stamina, which is probably his greatest asset. 💪
At Zeno’s exhibition tournament in the manga, Champa says he hasn’t trained in a while. Despite this, he surpasses Sidra. Towards the end, he is defeated. Only Quitela and Beerus managed to stay on their feet.
At the Tournament of Power, during the fight between Hit and Dyspo, Champa is unable to follow the Pride Trooper’s movements. Indeed, Dyspo is probably the fastest being when moving at the speed of light. 💫
Champa demonstrates truly impressive power, and in his universe, only his angel Vados surpasses him.
CHAMPA’S FIGHTING TECHNIQUES
Champa masters his own fighting techniques, which are similar to those of the other gods of destruction. Here’s the full list: 📝
Flight: Champa can move through the air without difficulty.

Wrath of the God of Destruction: Champa uses this technique to destroy Guarana as well as his soldiers.
Ball of Continuous Energy: Present in Xenoverse 2, Champa uses a barrage of energy as a super skill.

The Roar of the God of Destruction: Champa emits a powerful scream that forces his enemies to stand on guard. He can’t maintain it for long, as it requires a lot of energy. This ability is present in Xenoverse 2.
Sphere of Chaotic Destruction: This is Champa’s ultimate attack, a technique of ultimate destruction. When Beerus and Champa tried to use this ability, Vados and Whis intervened.

Headbutt: A powerful move used in Dragon Ball Fusion. Champa delivers an incredibly powerful headbutt.
God of Destruction: A passive skill used by Champa to increase his damage by up to 30% more than normal.
3 INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT CHAMPA
