ATLAS FLAME (アトラスフレイム ATORASU FUREIMU) WAS ONE OF THE SEVEN DRAGONS APPEARED IN CROCUS THROUGH THE GATE OF ECLIPSE. HE WAS A CLOSE FRIEND OF IGNIR AND THE CREATOR OF THE SUN VILLAGE.
APPARENCE
Atlas Flame is an enormous creature with the usual dragon characteristics: a massive body, a pair of wings for flying, four clawed limbs and a tail. However, unlike most known dragons, Atlas Flame’s body is not covered in scales, but appears to be made entirely of flames, giving the impression of a skeleton on fire.
PERSONALITY
Little is known about Atlas Flame’s personality. However, although dragons generally regard humans as food, Atlas Flame took the time to introduce himself to the Fairy Tail members who confronted him and warned them that they were about to experience the “flames of hell”, before unleashing his Dragon’s Roar.
Atlas Flame shows great determination and respect for those who are related to his dear friends. When he discovers that Natsu is the adopted son of his friend Ignir, the dragon frees himself from Rog du Futur’s control and fights on his own, siding with Natsu out of respect for his friend.
HISTORY
After returning to the past and living his natural life, Atlas created the Village of the Sun and became its protector as Eternal Flame. Atlas eventually dies, but a small part of his spirit remains in the Eternal Flame, which is then frozen by Silver, a member of Tartaros who mistakes him for a demon and uses his ice.
MAGIC AND CAPABILITIES
Dragon Hunter Flame of Hell magic (獄炎の滅竜魔法 Gokuen no Metsuryū Mahō): Atlas Flame can use this magic, which revolves around the element of hellfire. His flames are likened to the “flames of hell”.
Roar of the Dragon (獄炎竜の咆哮 Gokuenryū no Hōkō) : Like other dragons and dragon hunters, Atlas Flame can use his element in the form of a roar that emerges from his mouth. In Atlas Flame’s case, the attack takes the form of a huge mass of flame powerful enough to repel all affected Fairy Tail members. It can also be used as a beam of similar destructive power.
Body of Flames (炎の体 Honō no Karada): Due to its body composed entirely of flames, anyone who touches it will be severely burned, except those using Fire Dragon Hunter magic. What’s more, Atlas’s body of flames has the unique ability to dispel any magical attack directed at him, as seen when he repelled a combined attack from Luxus and the Tribe of Thunder Gods, or when he took a Motherglare dragon roar at close range without suffering any damage.
Fire tornado: Atlas Flame can transform his body into a tornado of flames. This attack is powerful enough to repel Makarov Draer in his Giant form and burn anyone nearby.
Flight: As a dragon, Atlas Flame can use its wings to move through the air and reach its destination before descending to attack.
Resistance: Atlas Flame is extremely resistant. He took a punch from Makarov, who was in his Giant form at the time, without sustaining any damage.
